There are two main themes that are the inspiration for many of my paintings.
My love of the changing seasons with the effects of light on the landscape and observing textures and marks
found on a variety of subjects due to the effects of time and weather.
I am also intrigued in the detail of marks made inadvertently by man and nature and see them as an unspoken language that records our existence.
I capture many of these instances with my camera and incorporate them into my painting.
Often working in a series, I respond intuitively to a variety of mixed media. I create many textures, marks and colours of varing density and opacity.
These are built up over a period of time and involve many layers and transformations.
